Two more people are now in custody in connection with a theft at Heathrow Airport in which over twenty individuals were injured by what is thought to be an irritant spray, as stated by law enforcement.
A man, 24, was arrested in the Lambeth area on suspicion of robbery and assault and a woman, 23 was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit robbery. Both individuals remain in custody, authorities confirmed.
The arrests follow an investigation into an assault at the multi-level parking garage at Heathrow's Terminal 3 this past Sunday. Before the attack, a pair of female travelers had stolen from them their suitcases after getting out of a parking garage elevator.
A toddler aged three was one of the those hurt during the incident. Five people went to hospital for treatment and have since been discharged.
Police detained a man in his thirties for suspected theft and assault close to the location. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.
Police were called at about 8:10 in the morning GMT following reports of a number of people injured by a noxious substance believed to be an irritant spray.
The assault - an event that authorities stated was a standalone incident and not being treated as an act of terror - resulted in delays to rail services and the partial closure of the main airport tunnel and the T3 car park briefly.
